Some may remember my days at Bloglines.com/blog/selm. I wasn’t really interested in posting stuff, but hey, bloglines was my newsfeedreader of choice, and they made it really easy for me to just post stuff I thought might be interesting for ppl. Bloglines was cool and all, I sent them feedback every once in a while, and they always answered and added stuff I suggested. Except one. They have a limit of 200 items per feed. I remember returning from holidays, and some sites had more then 200 updated items. They were lost. Bloglines told me, that the 200 items limit can’t be changed, and older posts were lost. :( So, besides nice people, great newsfeedreader and everything, I had to leave Bloglines.
Some research later, I had to decide between blosxom and WordPress. blosxom is really nice, but it needs manual configuration, which I decided not to have time for right now. WordPress is very nice too, and it comes with everything preconfigured by default. Additionally, my current newsfeedreader, Gregarius, has a plugin ready that allows me to post items directly to this blog. ^^ That’s it.
WordPress and Gregarius are free, webserverbased, social, pluggable, ajaxish, and actively developed. An intimidating symbiosis.
